This is mostly depressing because I know it's true. That's also the source of the humor... and this is going to be my life soon. The benefit of going to school where I do is that I've actually talked to my professors regularly, they know me and my strengths/weaknesses/interests pretty well, and can write good recommendations. There is hope... it's ( Read more... )

*snuggles* ...we can be doomed together, at least? The big thing, as I understand it, is that you're allowed to now a lot about the subject you're studying, but that it's essential to have some kind of focus. I fully look forward to - by which I mean dread the overwork, tuition fees, potential fieldwork clusterfucks, and inevitable impostor syndrome of - grad school, but I am so glad I don't plan to go into teaching, because, Jesus. That's just about it. My father was a college professor when my parents married, and they have a lot of stories about moving around and living in substandard college accommodations with low pay.

Speaking of my future career, oh my god Pandemic. I recall a similar game that had its own website (by the WHO, I seem to remember?), but I can't find it any more, so yay! Thanks for introducing me to that. :D
