Great, snakes on CRACK.

So.

...HELL. FUCKING. YES.

And you know what made it so, so much better than it would've been anyway? ...Actually, it was all the times that my plans had failed, leaving me to see the 2:35 Wednesday matinee at the AMC Livonia 20. Know how many people were there? Me, Devon, and Emi. Had extenuating circumstances (like jobs and grandmothers and best friends that are undeniably better than movies) not gotten in the way, there would've been four or five, but hey. Life Happens, you know?

So, in addition to just the amazing kitsch quality of "OMG SNAKES!!!" and "holy crap, look at how badly they made it; they HAD to make it this bad on purpose or there's no excusing it, the theatre population consists of us and the projectionist and, admittedly, we probably made his/her life a lot more interesting. We did Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and were generally obnoxious. "OH! OH! LOOK OUT, BITCH, THERE'S GONNA BE A SNAKE! ...IS IT REALLY... OH MY GOD, IT'S NOT... OH MY GOD, IT GRABBED HIS DICK!!!"

...Yeah, we're total bastions of maturity like that.

Anyway: over the top. Completely ridiculous. We made it better with out "intelligent" commentary. Also, Kenan Thompson and Samuel L. Jackson finally settled the debate between Playstation and X-Box. But I'm not spoiling it, since it's really the only thing TO spoil. Samuel L. Jackson is the king of one-liners. My throat stings a little from screaming.

Beforehand, I took the children to Dearborn, saw grandma and dad, and then took the children to Borders, where I introduced them to the amazing pasttime of reading the backs of the books in the Erotica and Gay Literature sections. Alex in Wonderland should be all I have to say about that. Chelsea called somewhere in there, whilst I was showing Emi the Lit!Pron known as "Anne Rice Does Sleeping Beauty," and we had a lovely 10-minute conversation about... tons of stuff. I love it when I can just ramble with friends like that.

...Ohmygod. I am breaking The Fisher King down into its plot structure. Just like Joe V. taught it. holyshitilearnedsomethingyay.

...I think that, later, I will be re-watching just to break it down and take notes on it, then I'll type them up and give them to Danja for his Fantasy class. Out of the nerdy goodness of my geektastic heart. Nifty.

Edit: Other big things include me buying The Fisher King and my first issues of The Advocate and Mental Floss (also bought the September Interview and whichever Fashion Rocks has the "musical fashion muses" article with Marc Jacobs and Rufus Wainwright).

snakes on a plane, new york!!!
