I'm so cruel to Captain Sparrow, and he isn't even my character.
My outline/ideas for the next three installments of my everyfiveyears challenge fic on him go as such:
Age Ten: Father dies. Funeral happens. Jack runs away and becomes a cabin boy on The Wicked Wench.
Age Fifteen: Taken by Beckett as the last survivor of The Wicked Wench, commended for general seafaring giftedness and offered a steady job. Refuses until they return to his old home town and he learns from mummy's pimp that mummy is dead. Being in a right vulnerable state, succumbs and takes the job.
Age Twenty: Is getting cabin fever from having to do Beckett's dirty work and putting Beckett in a right state when he wants more lee-way with procedures and more take from the jobs. Romances Tia Dalma, refuses to run slaves for Beckett, gets his pirate brand and infamous Sparrow tattoo, and, finally, meets Barbossa in Tortuga.
