I signed up for a few classes towards a vet tech degree this semester, just found out that a Vet Tech program is opening in a satelite campus this fall, and signed up for "Animal Science" classified underneath Animal Science, a subsection of Zoology.
This is to become a VET. I show up to class yesterday and this is what I find out:
Course Outline:
1. Intro to Animal contributions to humans
2. Livestock industry of today's world
3. Red meat products, by-products of meat animals, and the meat industry
4. General reproduction in meat animals
5. Lactation
6. Intro to basic genetics used in animal breeding
7. Beef cattle- history, breeds, and management
8. Beef slaughter techniques
9. Sheep and goats- history, breeds, and management
10. Wool and Mohair
11. Feeds
12. Poultry Industry
13. Swine Industry
14. Dairy Industry
15. Horse Industry
16. Pets and Companion animals
17. Food safety
18. Animal welfare
My LAB for this course is in the fucking FARM.
If I wanted to be a goddamned farmer, I wouldn't need a fucking degree!!!!
I'm going to be writing a rather scathing letter to the registars office/dean. >.<
Now that that's off my chest...
Lijah and I haven't been getting much time together lately, and I'm really starting to feel the effects. That sort of crushing depression that makes it so hard to get out of bed in the morning. *sigh*
I scrubbed the floors on my hands and knees last night, and spent quite awhile cleaning tonight, finally have everything but the laundry taken care of, but that will have to wait until Sunday. -.-
I'm not feeling very well, can you tell?
