There is a man I work with, and I can't decide if I like him or not. He drives everyone up the wall with his insane happiness, and most of us guess he's on crack... but, I mean... he's happy. He tells lots of stories, some which seem to stray from reality, but they make you think about your life and how you choose to lead it.
We were arguing today about whether or not clinical depression was really a disease or something created to give certain feelings a category and validation. I see both sides. I'm not a fan of using medication, but I think that you have to be able to identify a problem as something before you can treat it with or without medication. I still have a problem with his saying that it doesn't exist. I don't know. I admit that he did get me thinking, though, and that I admire. I think anyone who is willing to engage someone in an intelligent conversation and who can truly make you at least question your position is admirable. People just don't seem to care about things anymore, especially when I'm outside of college-land, where everyone cares about everything.
So anyway. I don't have to like him, but I do respect him.
The end!
