catching up
with the wonderful world of LJ. Just got me mum off to the airport. She's been visiting since Thursday so I've had very little time with the ole 'puter. Am vry tired. And really really don't want to go back to work tomorrow, it's gonna be a big shock to get up early.
Tried to go to the Maryland Ren Fest on Sunday but after getting stuck in traffic line-up where it took nearly two hours to go less than three miles decided it wasn't in the cards and went to Annapolis instead. Ah well. Also saw The Illusionist with Edward Norton, which was fun.
Started reading a book called The Things They Carried, a rather devastating collection of interrelated short stories about the Vietnam War, by Tim O'Brien. It's hypnotic and abruptly shocking, lovely prose and ugly images... great writing.
Took mom to Zaytinya for lunch on Friday. Besides the regular array of yummy goodness, we had a dessert that was to die for, made of apricots and greek yoghurt. MMMMMMM.
Back to normal life now.
