So I just rewatched INLAND EMPIRE via netflix streaming, and one of the key phrases I noted in my
lj entry after watching it in the theater the first time -- "you can lead a horse to the well but you can't make it drink" -- was nowhere to be found. Did I just imagine it? Or did Lynch edit the movie before it was released on DVD? Maybe he thought the horse line made the plot involving the polish girl too obvious? too obvious in a lynch film you ask? yeah. I... have no idea. I was waaay less confused this time when I watched it, it was much more coherent than I remembered it being and it was scarier than I remembered in places, but I am perplexed about the lack of the horse line. I am so sure it was there when I saw it in the theater. I mean, I wouldn't have just written about it out of thin air, right? THIS IS WHAT YOU DO TO ME, DAVID LYNCH.
in other news, I found
this post when I was looking for the INLAND EMPIRE post.
it is my unvarnished reaction to the first Iron Man preview I saw, back in September of 2007.
I AM LOLING. OH PAST ME, YOU HAD NO IDEA.
