trying to catch up
so, i possibly have a sinus infection? that's the theory. I'm on antibiotics and thought I was feeling somewhat better earlier today and had a blessed half day at work and came home and now I'm running a fever again. WHEN WILL THIS END.
So yeah. I was so geeked for the Twin Peaks rewatch and yet I have not been participating, because it's hard for my brain to form consistent thought this week. sigh.
I seem to consistently be in the minority with all things Supernatural. I thought the new episode last night was a mess, was pretty awful in places, with a few great character bits when the actors were allowed to act and not be buffoons. It was a terrible script and the directing was equally bad. And such a great concept! I loved the idea! I did! But wow. Bad. Bad bad bad. I was not surprised to find out this writing team was responsible for "Yellow Fever" which was not quite as bad but had equal issues in the ratio between Concept vs. Execution.
Sam and Dean in a psych ward should have been a cakewalk. But sadly, they handed it off to terrible writers, and the direction just made it worse. If there had been parallels to "Folsom Prison Blues"? So much potential wasted. I hope it gets fixed in fic.
I mean, Sam's blow up at the end about how his problem is anger? Fits totally with everything I've been trying to articulate in my head about Sam, but haven't really ever gotten around to writing down. But goooooood everything before that was just painful to watch. You could pretty much see the moment when Jensen Ackles just decided to throw in the towel and go full slapstick.
Anyway. Other people seem to have enjoyed it. Maybe part of it is that everyone else had to wait months for a new episode, whereas I just caught up last week. So I'm feeling less forgiving. I thought this was one of the worst episodes in the entire run of the show.
On a happier note, keerawa vidded! Apocalypse Drunk is s4-5 and it's a great song and I think it's the first vid I've ever inspired, so I feel honored. I have to go watch it now that it's finished. Runs off.
