This movie is kind of a glorious mess. It's completely insane and
disjointed, the ending doesn't work, but RDJ is magnetic. For most of the
movie his character reminds me of David Lynch's 'Angriest Dog in the World'
comic strip. In fact, I bet this would have been crazy good if Lynch had
gotten his hands on it, what with the noir and the 50's music and the...
insanity.
I don't understand how the man manages to get such raw moments of acting
into films this artificial and surreal. But he does.
