Six Feet Under reactions

Finished season 3 of "Six Feet Under" ... and it was a bit odd. I'd spent the whole season missing the Nate/Brenda interaction, and then when it was clear that Lisa was going to be killed off I was a bit disappointed. It felt a bit like a cop-out, a way of having Nate escape a difficult situation. Though I liked the angst, of course. Guess I'll have to wait and see what happens in S4.

I'm a bit in love with Claire. And the art teacher - absolutely hilarious. An exaggeration, to be sure, but some of it struck home from my own student days. I had a professor once who railed against the class because we weren't familiar with performance artist Laurie Anderson. He insisted we were slackers for never having seen Anderson live. This was at a smaller state school in Michigan. As if most of us had ever had the chance... avant garde art in that area extended to screenings of David Lynch's "Lost Highway."

Anyway, Ruth seems to have been written inconsistently from the middle of the season to the end. What was up with her crush on Arthur?

The actor who plays Rico was quite wonderful in scenes between Rico and Vanessa, his emotion just pouring from his eyes as he realized he didn't know how to help his wife.

Poor Brenda. Just when I thought Billy was going to be okay, that she could lean on him for once, he went bonkers again. And Brenda's mother, while also often an exaggeration, is just so perfectly manipulative and selfish it's amazing.
