if you like a certain group more than others, you will give them more chances to make mistakes and you'll see them in a different light than others.

Of course this is true, but our preferences are not dictated by skin colour naturally....this is a societal thing. If you watch a group of 3-4 yr olds on their first day at nursery, they make friends with everyone..........unless they have been subject to racist views previously, or told a certain group is bad.

I was brought up to respect every other human being, regardless of background or origin, so it has never been an issue.

As a side note, this is only a part of the wider issue of societal control by governments and media, you have to be thin, you have to be rich hou have to be x,y or z to be seen as worth anything. This is the wrong way to go about things.

This is also why we currently have so many problems round the world with the Muslim community protesting. I personally have no problems with a cartoonist lampooning my Gods, in fact I have several religiously related cartoons pinned on my noticeboard - I have a sense of humour, but once these were realised to cause offence, freedom of speach or not, consideration should have been given. It appears to me that this is a deliberate attempt to antagonise.

Is a cartoon really worth starting WW3 over? Haven't we had enough wars caused by religion? We should have learned better by now!

everyone is subjected to "social things" as you say. no matter or where ever you are unless you live in a bio-dome or any other controlled environment, your subjected to having racial views. NO MATTER who you are. no matter if your brought up that way or not. isnt the saying, it takes a village to raise a child true? it hasnt been proven wrong yet.

racial views is just human nature. HUMAN NATURE. sad but true.

as far as world war 3, the topic is broad. my only answer to that is learn your history(crusade), learn from your mistakes.

The crusades were partly what I was refering to with 'too many religious wars'.

I know the history and I have learned from it, it is a shame the rest of the world can't get it's collective head out of the sand and see it.

racial views is just human nature. HUMAN NATURE. sad but true.

I'm human and it is not my nature, it is possible to change this.......but you have to want it, on a collective scale. Racism is not the default setting of the human being. We learn everything from ecperience including what to fear if we are not taught to hate we will not hate. A healthy respect for danger is needed but the colour of your skin does not make you a dangerous person, your actions do.

i appologize, when i say "you" i mean the world when referring to "past religious wars".

i think your just masking your feelings. i dont consider myself racist but i wont lie to myself. i look at colors. you must be blind not to.

hmmmm, as far as fear, i dont know. i dont think fear is taught. i think fear is imbedded in your genes. nobody taught me to fear pitbulls barking or drowning or snakes. i learnt that on my own.

roflmfao.....sorry that is so funny........I am an artist.

Of course I see colour, but seeing a green person doesn't automatically make me reach for the nukes to wipe out Mars!

Of course my behaviour is going to be modified, I take cultural differences into account as a matter of respect, but nothing more.

i think fear is imbedded in your genes. nobody taught me to fear pitbulls barking or drowning or snakes. i learnt that on my own.

The fight or flight reaction is programmed into our genes, but we have to learn for ourselves what we fear and what we don't, otherwise everyone would be scared of spiders, say, or snakes. I hate spiders but I love snakes. You hate snakes, that makes us different and points out that these are things we have learned to fear from our own experiences, not something which is hardwired into us :)

There are many psychological and behavoural studies which have shown that many fears are learned...there are one or two basics that everyone fears, fire, drowning, lack of oxygen etc., but these are bodily survival instincts rather than emotional or intellectual ones, and they can be overcome to a certain extent....Firefighters and emergency workers spring instantly to mind.

If you are surrounded by racist views you are more likely to become racist than if you are not. I was fortunate to be brought up in a family that had no prejudices, for which I am eternally grateful as it does not cloud my judgement and allows me to see past the colour of someone's skin or the religion they follow.

what your saying, "cultural differences into account", thats racial.

hmmmmm...........so taking into account that my Jehova's Witness Neighbour (as an example) will not allow blood transfusions if their child gets knocked down in the street outside my house is a racial consideration? I don't think so, that is a personal cultural choice of theirs which I can respect without agreeing with.

This is what I mean when I saw taking cultural differences into account, being aware that someone has a different way of doing certain things so as not to put your big size 9's in it lol

This has nothing to do with the colour of their skin.

Why do you find it so hard to accept that someone is free of racial prejudice?

i didn't understand one word you said but i think i know what it was pertaining to. my shoe. hahaha

as far as free of racial prejudice? i must say, i can not accept it. why do you think boxing, football, people arguing attracts audience? its human nature.

i didn't understand one word you said

Put as simply as I can manage it Culture does not equal Race

And I don't like any of the above mentioned 'sports', must be because I will not lower myself to enjoy violence. Like any other human trait, if the need is there it can be overcome......the human mind and body has been so successful biologically because of this addaptivity. It is disgusting that we do not use it to further planetry harmony.

U: not everyone is prejudice.
Me: there are always exception to the rule except for this issue.
U: well im an exception, im not prejudice.
Me: yes you are. your not human if you dont. im not saying your a black panther or a nazi, your not extreme but you judge.

and the meaning of the word
RACE: A local geographic or global human population distinguished as a more or less distinct group by genetically transmitted physical characteristics.

A group of people united or classified together on the basis of common history, nationality, or geographic distribution: the German race.
A genealogical line; a lineage.
Humans considered as a group.

plus if you look in the thesaurus, culture does equal race :)

planetary harmony? im all for it.
