Greetings, fellow artisans!
It's well overdue, but alas a new painting update!
The muse has been fleeting, I must say.
It's like watching paint dry. Which I have had the pleasure of observing.
Day three of painting consisted of brushing on my basic color palette over my color wash.
I truly have no technique or paint etiquette. I just slap it on there sloppily where I think it should go (which can often result in an epic failure). Most artists like to do test paintings or, heaven forbid, a sketch. "Pfft, not I," says the lazy artist.
I should really start doing that though. I am horrible with preliminary sketching. You would think it was equatable to having one's teeth pulled by the way I avoid it. Ha.
After a couple of days to let it dry a bit I started on layer three.
This was also the same day that I started my second painting (see earlier post) in which I used palette knives. As a result, I used the palette knife on this painting too. I couldn't help it! It was so much fun to use on the landscape painting.
So far I've only been working with the darker colors of her clothes. I'll gradually add lighter colors on top. Why do I do this? I have no idea, but it's how it is going to get done. (insert laugh?)
Well that is all for now my friends and soon to be friends.
I'll try to post my painting updates more frequently. As soon as my motivation comes back to work on them. :s
"Muse! Where did you go now?!" I cry vehemently.
~Cheers
