Well, I finally logged back onto myspace and remembered my login and password, an old email was my "feaux pau" however that's spelled. I got back from visiting frank and his family in Rochester about an hour ago and am hanging around so that I can say goodbye to my mom and dad. It's going to be a hard rest of the year and I forsee me sitting at my computer eating and feeling bad for myself--either that or getting a lot of work done for school. Probably both. I got some good books at Barns and Noble in their education section for my kids to work with. It's funny, I didn't know what grade level to get for them considering their all about three grades below. Oh well. I also picked up a bunch of job applications from places around the dells so I can work on filling them out with my older students.
Frank's was fun. The first night we went out for pizza and watched John Carpenter's The Thing, a classic. Then on Tuesday we went and saw King Kong in the theatre. I must say--Most annoying movie theatre experience EVER!! There were a lot of kids there, but I happened to be sitting in front of the most annoying little fattie. He talked throughout the movie with his parent/guardian hushing him every so often. He kicked my seat and made rasspberry noises whenever the movie was not "action oriented" enough for him. We would have moved but it was a pretty crowded matinee. Then we were kind of booted out of Frank's for the night as his cousin and her husband, American Eskimo puppy, and three male children had arrived on a stopover to North Dakota. Because of this Frank and I were expelled from our quarters in the basement and really just looked at as a "what are we supposed to do with you" kind of thing. We were lucky though, because Rob, Frank's best friend told us we could stay at his place, as his sister is MIA, aka at her boyfriends, and there was an empty room at his place. It was actually one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. I've hurt my back recently and really can go for more than several hours without popping some kind of mussle relaxer so the bed was a blessing. I was really upset that night though becasue I lost my cell phone. We searched as much as we could in the dark but conceeded that I must have lost it at the movie theatre. We were out at a bar when I'd realized I didn't have it. Near tears, Frank consoled me that there was really nothing we could do until the next day so we might as well just enjoy the rest of the evening. Well, some pain reliever and about four drinks later and I was my happy self again. We went to the movie theatre today and my cell phone was in the lost and found, thank GOD! Relatives bound for other destinations, Frank and I took a short nap and then I was bound for home. And that's my story.
