So, today I started my fast. It's going okay so far, not having flavour is the hardest bit but I'm not feeling hungry. Basically, I've decided I'm not going to eat properly until I'm in the lower half of the normal BMI scale. I went to the doctors yesterday for a new patient check-up thing and I found out my weight and actual height, this didn't give particularly happy BMI results. And on the phone last night Tom said "Are you going to try and lose some weight then?", so I am. Fuck food.
The annoying part is, is that I don't have access to any scales. But perhaps the money I save not buying food I'll be able to buy some cheap ones from Woolworths or something. Haw.
Before anyone goes on about how fasting is unhealthy, it isn't. It is proven to help chronic health problems by essentially shutting down some functions, giving the body time to heal. So as long as I don't do anything too stenuous I'm going to be okay :P I was only going to allow myself water, but I think I need a vitimin tablet a day too and I will possibly let myself have Andrew's Liver Salts to settle my stomach if it gets particularly bad. It's exciting.
In other news, today I'm have a BILLATHON thanks to Nic<3 He dropped off the DVD's that his mum kindly recorded for me since I have been without teevee. Now I'm just without UKTVGold but ehhh. So far I've watched all three of last weeks ITV episodes and managed to do one and a half illustrations [10.5 to go], so after a short break with not much to do because I can't eat, I am going to get started on the five episodes of UKTVGold :) Sad I a may be, but having episodes on like that really helps me work. I find that with Cold Feet and Inspector Morse as well. This makes me sad that I have neither on DVD here :(
I got my cheque from college for the books that I made for them, so I think I'm going to buy the Cold Feet box set on DVD with that and maybe some books I've been wanting for ages. I'll probably leave it until I get my loan through though, so I feel like I'm not just putting my cheque in to pay off the overdraft. Haha.
Um. I guess that's it.
Yuhuh.
