Had the audition today for the fall play. Got home on a "good audition high" as Dan puts it, I described how I did to my father (who was running around the house trying to find my school sweatshirt to wear to the soccer game his friend was coaching) and used "fucking owned" about seventy times. Clearly I was in a good mood.
And then I watched Derek Denies Denial. *makes crashing sounds*
Fail, Family Channel, fail. Although may I say I found it interesting that he stole Casey's lilac deodorant and sprayed it in his room because he missed Sally (aka Casey stand in number 2)? The issue they addressed is very real although the ending of the episode with Sally and Derek kissing and agreeing to "have fun" until August was very... um, odd to me.
It's probably because all the older/younger relationships I've witnessed with my friends, they date until one of them goes off to college and they are so attached at that point that they try to make the relationship work with the distance and it ends really badly. I feel badly for Derek because he's so clearly more invested in this relationship than she is and it's going to blow up in his pretty face. *sighs*
Favorite scene: when Casey tricked Derek into talking to Paul. It's such a concerned, pushy girlfriend thing to do. All Derek/Casey scenes.
I also had a soft spot for the whole "he answered you without insulting you!" surprise thing because... *embarrassed* that's how I tell if my boyfriend's feeling badly or tired, he gets all randomly indifferent. Actually Derek/Casey reminds me a lot of Nick/Violet. Probably why I'm one of the few (*coughnotcough*) people who believe they can sustain a relationship just fine right now.
Least favorite scene: LAST SCENE, OMG. Anything with Derek/Sally.
Although I did agree with Sally's decision. And not just because I want Derek/Sally to break up. College and getting a good education is so much more important than a high school boyfriend, especially if it's a boy you've only been dating for two (?) months who's not going to even go to college for another year. Derek expecting her to stay with him was very in character but... I mean come on. Really? You think you're going to marry her, Der?
No. Wrong. You'll marry Casey. And Sally will come back from Vancouver and be all "WTF?" and Vi will clap her hands and say "HA! See? I win. Fail, Sally. Fail."
Stupid Sally. Kate Todd, I love you, but die, Sally, die. *growls*
I really need to go read good!fic now. That was depressing and I'm incoherent and Sally irks me to no end. Thank God she'll be gone soon.
