Fun fact
about me: I am very invitation-shy. I am scared to pick up the phone and ask if someone wants to hang out with me. This is true of everyone except my boyfriend and Heather. E-mail and IMs are easier for me, but still not my favorite. And when it comes to actually participating in social activity, I get very, very nervous right before hand, sometimes so nervous that I bail at the last minute. The result being that I have a helluva time keeping close with my friends.
I just called Melissa. We are going to hang out tonight. I am giddy and proud.
EDIT: We went to Barnes and Noble, drank coffee, then wandered around talking about books, touching their covers. I very, very rarely get the chance to discuss the Rossettis, Virginia Woolf, Tennyson, Jane Austen and cheesy romance novels with someone who feels them as fundamental a part of her identity as I do. It was sweet.
