It was hyped-up. It had reasons to. I didn't see the first half but I've been told it was good to a point, with the potential for 'much better', I mean it's Portgual and the Netherlands [[Ok, I've seen the first half, and I really don't know what my friend was on when he told me that because it was really good! I was on the edge of my seat! Rawrr, electricity everywhere and speed, yay! And Cristiano hurting so badly so prettily, omg :B One of my fave first halves so far, actually. *back to the original post*]] (and all the history behind this particular match-up, er, yeah)... but the second half I did see (you should have seen me going HUHWTF!? at Cristiano and Ruud not playing. Then I knew why Cristiano was out, ok, but Ruud. I still don't get it) ... that second half, after the first minutes... man that was horrible, it was pitiful, it was downright disastrous.
And this goes far beyond Alpha male struggles and good stuff, this was not pretty at all. This is precisely what the sport is not about.
And all for what? I can hear England rubbing their hands from my spot here. Yes, England, you go.
