It's so terribly cold in the castle dungeon, and all a lonely Grunt wants is some warmth and maybe a bite of food.

At times the wind screamed as loudly as the prisoners, even moreso now that the stream of bound and gagged men had temporarily run dry and the deepest parts of the dungeon were silent. Patrols were never meant to intersect so it was rare for the creature to even glimpse one of its brothers. It was lonely, so lonely and cold, and after a while everything looked the same to its poor, fading eyes.

It would not do for the monster to remember the man it had been, but there had been a time before the mutation, before the pain and the constant cracking and breaking of its own skin, the wet slap as it retread the same bloody footprints down the same cold stone corridor. This it knew, as few details as it could recall, and as its unstable existence wound down it found itself pining for that time. The man would know. The man with the lantern and the haunted look. There were no other men left in Brennenburg, and perhaps if it could just get close and feel the warmth it knew must rise from the man’s skin, perhaps it could remember when it’d had ( ... )

Am I the only one who ever thought that when Daniel said "Alexander! You must let me be, I have to concentrate..." Alexander was molesting him from behind or so? xD I don't know, just a little suggestion
