Dragon*Con Costume Description
Here’s my very long depiction of my steam punk zombie costume, sorry for any grammatical errors I was tired while writing this. ^_^
Description is from top to bottom
To start the over all fabric is a green iridescent taffeta seen here: http://www.housefabric.com/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=10360
I’m making a hat from butterick pattern 5004 option E seen here: http://butterick.mccall.com/b5004-products-8567.php?page_id=399&search_control=display&list=search
This hat will be made out of the taffeta with a black ribbon band and black accents such as feathers and flowers.
My hair which is currently a little longer than chin length and with probably be about the same for the con and will be down and messy, I may get clip-in extensions and put them in the front of my hair to make the front look longer and give an extreme angled look (the clips would be hidden by the hat).
My make-up plans are to paint my face, pale white with blue accented highlights and smudgy eye make-up and blood around my mouth.
My facemask is still in the planning stages but I’m thinking a round shape like a dust mask made from grid style chicken wire spray pained copper. With foam edges covered in dark brown suede with two straps of suede coming off the sides going around to Velcro at the back of my head or under the hat.

It will be made out of the taffeta and have hook and eye closers to keep the front smooth as I’m going to have a belt running across it. The edges of the sleeves with be edged with black tassel trim. The jacket with be normal except for the left side sleeve it will be shredded from just after the shoulder down in long strips until the cuff, which will be intact and resting at my wrist. My arm will be painted to match my face.
Across my chest diagonally with be a dark brown belt going over the right shoulder with a small tie going around my waist to hold it in place. On the belt will be zombie ears. And from the front a D ring from which the leash will hook.
I’m hoping to make the ears by making a mold of my own ear and then making however many “ears”, I feel I need out of white/grey sculpy that I will then splatter with red paint for blood effect. And then hung by the tops on the chest belt. Also some will have earrings so they look like they’re from women.

With the ruffle bottom in the taffeta with a black trim at the top edge of the ruffle

With the same tassel fringe as the jacket sleeves
I may have a second belt of zombie ears hanging across the skirt’s apron.
My shoes will be black lace up Victorian boots.
