rainy days and mondays
It feels like the first really genuine day of Fall in old KC. The rain has been coming down non-stop (except for brief commercial interruptions) since the sky's change to a light grey that passed for sunrise today.
Other than studying and sleeping, I haven't gotten much accomplished today. Never do on days like this.
As the temperature slowly makes a downward slide to the promised low of 54 F (12 C), my plan is to sit out on the porch , hidden by camouflage netting, and watch the residents of the city stumble through the rain, making clumsy hops to avoid splashing cars and puddles, as though they are doing the dance of the little swans while on major traquilizers.
And to celebrate the end of summer, I'm treating myself to some cheap Chinese food. Baby corn, straw mushrooms, and shrimp in a spicy brown, garlicky sauce, filled with MSG and starch.
The fortune cookie says "Idleness is the holiday of fools". Happy holiday!
