Every time I log onto the
WFMU's MP3 blog, I end up listening to stuff that is either outside my own immediate comfort and familiarity zone, or listening to stuiff that is outside anyone's...and every time I do, it's really enjoyable.
I don't mean i've stopped listening to the "cutting edge" stufff that I fancy myself an expert in.
i like the Crystal Castles album I got recently, there are some decent tracks on "Abby Compilation Vol.3" ( the ones by Klangstabil , Ordo Rosarluis Equilibrio, and the Project Pitchfork remix by NoisufX ), and I dig the Malaria release from a few years back that I downloaded, since it really shows off the voice of Gudrun Gut at its absolute best....but you know, anymore, it's discovering stuff I had no idea I would even appreciate in the first place that really and genuinely brings me joy......musically...and insofar as anything can bring joy to this morose asshole :))
Anyhow, I figured i'd share a few tracks. And , caveat emptor, if you put the MP3s found here into your DJ sets at alternative nights, you can just skip this post, because, well...as I said above.
Paul Mauriat - Love Is Blue
Willie Nelson - I Never Cared For You Elmore James -Cry For Me Baby Nina Simone -Love Me or Leave Me This next one is just for LULZ. It's the soundtrack to one of the most ridiculous monster movies evwer made, "Mothra"
Yuji Koseki - Mothra theme and, finally, a song from an underground experimental CD released in the 90s, which consisted of nothing but the songs of a very famous band from the 1970s , found on a damaged 8-track tape at a garage sale for 25 cents.
The familiar music is radically transformed and remixed by the faulty 8-track itself, w/o human manipuklation.
Egnekn -Lonelytime hope you enjoy them as much as I did
