Balboa Park, San Diego
entrance to Balboa Park.
Museum of Man (from now on, MoM).
some hallway.
MoM from the bridge leading into Balboa. That's my aunt in the corner.
some tower.
Lovely Statue of Balboa himself.
balboa at night. yaaay for pixels.
Balboa Park has this huge garden, I thought this was a nifty cactus :).
I thought it was a grand wedding, but it was actually a charity auction ball thing. It was pretty cool, TONNES OF PEOPLE. My aunt said that everyone super filthy rich in san diego would have been there. It was like hollywood, red carpet style. I was too far away to get a picture of the people though :(.
because camels are a must-have at social functions. You bet.
beautiful, my god. it was so grand. i love balboa park..there was a huge section just like this.
this is from tha balboa bridge. that's downtown san diego. over to the left people were practicing archery :).
AMAZING how the sunset turned the place so golden. I wanted it to never end..
pretty little flowers :)
all the electrical boxes around balboa park and hillcrest (the GLBT community in san diego) were painted beautifully. This one was my favourite.
looks pretty but it's not really safe to go walking down there alone (which i was). My aunt said a lot of hobos sleep there. From what I was able to see, it's a pretty extensive little mini-park walk thing. This is just the entrance. It goes down, down, down, around..
This restaurant - el Prado - had AMAZING food. Omg. It was soo good. I got black bean soup, and it's the best soup i've ever had in my life. yes. better than borshch (don't tell bohdan's mum =O!)
i love wrought-iron stuff. so pretty. this reminds me of my school, a LOT, just..a bit more decoration ;).
lily pond by this FASCINATING russian icon museum. i wish i could have taken pictures, but cameras were banned. wow....the art there was beautiful. I talked to some ladies in Spanish, and they complimented mine but I was mesmerised by her Spanish. I'll never forget how beautiful it was, so clear. I understood every last word..., she should be a singer.
Part of Balboa Park's extensive garden, mainly roses. All colours, types, shapes, scents...
this is one of my favourite pictures. It captures the essence of Balboa Park. I love this kind of architecture.
Close up of some of the roses. Sorry for weird lighting, it was dusk.
MoM tower I think.
Shrine to Shakespeare at the Globe Theater. Othello, I think, was playing while we were there. I could hear it. :)
Another of my favourite Balboa Park photos.
Over here I talked to some Scientologists.
Because topless ladies on the top of buildings is just REALLY cool. or something. No idea what was up with that. They were on the whole building. lol.
Good-by Balboa Park..
