Do you remember that poem I told you about?
Well, they are publishing it. They’re also sending someone down to our little Care Center to do an interview with staff and residents and take some photos. Someone told me this on Thursday I think, and I’ve just been trying to mull through it all. I’m both excited and nervous. Excited that something good will come out of this for our Care Center, but nervous because I’m really not great with communication and the thought of an interview scares me. I really don’t want to mess this up. I’ve thought about asking our Nursing and Recreation Manager sit in with me, because she’s fantastic when it comes to working with all types of people. We’ll see I guess.
Also our care center has won an award in the whole of CHR, for teamwork and excellent customer service. They’re bussing us all to Calgary for some sort of an awards night.
Outside of work, nothing much is going on. I’m looking at buying a little car so that I have a reliable vehicle to run back and forth to work in. It’s nothing spectacular, but It will do the job. I would have preferred a half-ton, but they’re too expensive.
My cousin Nicole is having her baby on Tuesday by c-section. I’ll be helping her out on my days off since they don’t have the money to bring someone in to help. It’s been a while since I did anything with children, so this should be interesting. I used to love doing child care, but got soured on the whole experience when I saw some of the things that parents were doing with their children. Who gives a baby Vodka? Fucking idiots. My boss wouldn’t let us call child services for any of the things we saw, so in the end I just quit. Actually I think it’s soured my whole out look on having children. Don’t ask me how that works. I’ve heard my mother ask me why, "because I would be a good mother", and I can’t really answer her.
oooh... as an after thought. We may also be looking into buying our first home. We've been renting for so long, and nothing is ever done about this house so it's time to look into something we can play with.
