all good things come to an end...
Sunday was the last episode of "The Wire." Part of me is sad and part of me is glad that it ended on its own terms, at the height of its creative genius. It is rare that television offers something other than the great escape from the everyday grind of reality. When it's really good, television is art in its greatest medium. And "The Wire" is an example of TV at its very best. It's one of those shows that hits you at home and makes you think as well as entertain. So, no that the play had ended, I urge anyone who reads this post do yourself a favor and go out and rent, borrow, buy, and/or own "The Wire." You'll be glad you did.
