10 reasons why you should be watching "The Wire"...
Click to view"The Wire" is the best show...EVER. Period. You can throw any show up against it and that show would look like the tv equivalent to Paris Hilton...That's how muthafuckin' ill "The Wire" is. And here's 10 reasons why YOU should be watching it...
1. David Simon and Ed Burns scripts...
the above clip is a prime example of their magic. and the fact that they based an entire season around stevedores and the Baltimore port industry and made it fucking riveting...
2. because you're just an ignorant asshole if you don't...
3. the cast, the cast, the cast...
best ensemble for a drama to date...just an amazing group of actors who breathe life into the characters which brings me to #4...
4. the characters...
FINALLY!! we get to see "real" people on tv...fully actualized, 3 dimensional characters
5. "SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIT..."...
if you watch the show, then you know exactly what that means...
6. Baltimore...
rarely is that you find that the setting is also a character in the story...and it's just refreshing to see some place other than NYC or LA...
7. it's modern day Shakespeare...
8. the "establishment" doesn't get it...
i find that most things outside of the norm is usually what's worthwhile...
9. it really takes our society to task by shedding some light on the dark parts of life that we choose not to see...and trust me as hardcore as it is, it still just scratches that surface...
10. it's the last season and just like halley's comet, nothing this good will be around for a very long time...
well that is if David Simon doesn't decide to do something else...
