1) the writing:
there's something to be said about dialogue like this...
Michael Scott: Well, I ran down Meredith in my car.
Ryan Howard: Ohhhh, did you do this on purpose?
Michael Scott: No, I was being negligent, but she's in the hospital, she's fine, recovering nicely, tiny little crack in her pelvis, but she will be up in...
Ryan Howard: Did this happen on company property?
Michael Scott: Yes. It was on company property with company property. So, double jeopardy. We are fine.
Ryan Howard: I don't think you understand how jeopardy works.
Michael Scott: Oh, right. I'm sorry. What is "we're fine"?
which brings be to...
2) the cast, especially steve carell...i think there are second only to the "arrested development" ensemble in terms of sheer brilliance...
3) it takes place in scanton pa...(self explanatory)
4) the characters...
they're all fuckin' nuts in the most delightful way...how can you not like a guy who takes his girlfriend's sick cat and puts it into the freezer as a means of euthanizing it??...
5) as absurd as it is, it captures corporate culture pretty accurately...
6) it's beyond absurd...for all intents and purposes, michael scott should not have a job...
7) michael scott...if you've ever seen the show, then i really don't need to explain it...needless to say, i the 4th season opener, michael runs over one of his employees and found a way to make it all about him...and his fight to raise funds for rabies research...
8) the depth...
even at it's most absurd, there are sad moments that keeps it very rooted in reality...it's subtle yet poignant it's a very hard balance to maintain and the people who bring me this show are masters...
9) jenna fischer and john krysinski (aka) jim and pam are my favorite comedic dynamic duo...and they're just freakin' cute together...
10) it restored my faith that television can not only be good, but it can be great...
so here's my big "FUCK YOU!!" to FOX...ha-ha!!
