About fanfic I've been reading...
Um, so I was re-writing a scene in my novel and felt so pleased with myself, and then I was tired. Something made me remember a picture of Noah and René posted in heroespiclove which made me think of these two things 1) two or three Angela/René fics I’ve read, and 2) I wonder if there’s any Noah/René fics out there?
I thought there could be, because I’ve always had the impression that if I can think of a pairing, someone else must have thought about it first. Obviously, this is not true - just look at Angela/Noah - only a handful of people wrote that before I did, and as far as know nobody else has written Angela/Heidi. This shocked me when I found out ;) but I forgot to consider that now. Well, the first sign was that there’s no Mr.Bennet/the Haitian tag in heroes_fic, but I still looked at the Haitian-tagged posts. I found lots of Claire/the Haitian… Hm. Okay, so Noah/René is a rare pairing! I still think it has to exist somewhere, not that I need to read it. It was just a thought. I’m already less interested in this thought.
….ah, okay, in rare_heroes. That’s good, because I was beginning to think I’m crazy with all my rare pairings. I mean, just look at Kyou Kara Maou! The opportunities are endless there, but what are people writing? All these “Yuuri finally falls in love with Wolfram” fics. And then there are some ConZak to be found and Gwendal/Günter, but pretty much everything else is rare. (But I read a fun femslash fic yesterday: the maids, from the kitchen table’s pov!) I have yet to write a Yuuri/Sara fic to add to the collection of non-Wolfram fics… but this will be done at some point. Cheri/Fluurin is also something that needs to be written. Yesterday I also read an Anissina/Julia drabble. It was very short but very good; I don’t think I can add something there. But my headcanon agrees with it!
Okay. I’ll go back to my vampire woman now. Oh, but first I’ll look at something I found in rare_heroes. Not Noah/René but Sandra/Eden - sounds interesting!! (Speaking of Sandra, two fics that stand out in my memory are one with Meredith and one with Peter. Interesting what I remember from everything that I’ve read…)
*lol* Okay… this was, um… fun. Here: Five Couples That (Definitely) Never Existed. There was no context to the short bit about Eden/Sandra and that was what I was curious about - how to make that work?! Well, if it doesn’t make sense, pwp works… Same with the other ones: Sylar/the Haitian, Hana/Kaito (I sort of liked that one) and Peter/DL. But the last part of this fic! Nathan/Hiro! It made me giggle because the pairing is so impossible but written so impossibly cute that it has to be. I’ve always wanted to read Nathan/Hiro fluff and now I got it!! Yay! There’s even more in rare_heroes… but that’s for some other time!
