Wow, this is beautifully written and so dark. I'm completely anti-war and I loved seeing how you explored such a complex theme in such a stark, realistic way. Thanks for much for the wonderful fill!

The main character of Kyou Kara Maou, Yuuri, is anti-war as well. He makes it his life goal to make sure that all people in this world (not Earth) live in peace with each other. If Yuuri had been in this fic, he would have had the power to stop the fire (before they killed the girl) and he would have scared the crap out of those guys, but he wouldn't have killed them... but when he comes into the picture this particular war has been over since 20 years. The characters in this fic do all they can to support him (he's young and naive - both a strength and a weakness). Conrad is shown as a great guy (kind, friendly, loyal, etc) and devoted to protect young Yuuri. This war is only shown in a couple of flashbacks, but I imagine the experiences must have scarred him more than what is shown... It is unusual for me to write something like this, I'm very glad you liked what I did with your prompt!
