Oh, what a mother must do to get her sons out of trouble!

Every so often they fight her and work against her, but they will always be her children and they will never know as much as she does.

She saw another proof of it when Peter came from the future with a scar on his face, and he put his younger and more innocent self in that dangerous body! The sad thing is that Peter always believes that he does the right thing.

“You are not my mother”, Sylar says.

Angela wants to say: You’re damn right, I’m not, but she captures his hand in both of hers, leans in closer towards his face, and says:

“But I am, dear, I am.”

Oh, Peter! Her youngest, her baby. Anything to save him, even if it means kissing that monster, telling him that she will be by his side. It’s risky of course, but she is willing to take that risk.

She hears the cries of that woman when she walks away and for a moment, the guilt is overwhelming.

Angela has often dreamed that the monster was trapped in the mind of a son of hers in one way or another; it is held captive by her love. That means that Sylar will be in her mind, in her heart. The monster will be taken in by her, like a bug is wrapped up in a spider’s net. The mental image is saddening but not as sickening as it should have been. A Black Widow does what she has to do to protect that which needs protection. So strangely enough, Gabriel - reformed, changed? - and little Noah were living the quiet, peaceful life she could never have, in her dream.

It looked like a good thing, but Angela knows that no dream can tell the whole story. She can still change things. She can control things. She was young when she took it upon herself to be the spider in the web and she learned things by doing them. She learned that nothing is ever easy and she has been forced to take a detour sometimes, change her mind and her plans, but she is never going to step back, lose control.

What she said to Sylar was true; it is his hunger that makes him do what he does. But he’s still a monster. Is she not? Why is she not? Because she is motivated by something outside of herself. She has to protect the world, and sometimes someone has to be sacrificed. And most of all, she must protect her world; her family.

That’s why she knows that she was very persuasive when she talked to Sylar and called him Gabriel. Even he knows that a mother’s love is stronger than anything, and the love in her voice was real. It just wasn’t a love meant for him.
