30 Days of Writing, 1-2, and picspam

Jan 28, 2011 21:51

… And all of a sudden I felt like ugh… blah… so I decided to spam this f-list with a couple of really good Fanny Ardant photos, and then a writing meme (the “30 Days of” style) I found when something made me come across speccygeekgrrl’s journal. I’ll mostly talk about original fiction here, I guess. Or a little bit of both. I’ll just do it once in a while with one or two questions at the time. Feel free to ignore, fic reader.

(This is not one of the really good ones, but it’s still good because it’s from Nathalie…, one of my favourites. I think I might actually watch the American remake sometime soon, because, well, it’s sort of like fanfiction but a movie, right?)

1.Tell us about your favorite writing project/universe that you've worked with and why.

I think that generally, my favourite project is my newest one… But maybe I’ll have to say my first novel project, which I started in 7th grade. I don’t think I’ve ever been so enthusiastic about another project, because I was old enough to define “writer” as something serious (as opposed to only writing little stories for fun), but I was young enough to be very naïve! I really thought that it was going to be published one day; it was enough to believe that I was going to write a novel, I never doubted that it was possible. I also did a lot of research for it. It was set during the Viking era, so I spent a lot of time at the library. Then, as time passed, I lost interest in this story and I never even finished it. I wonder if I still have it in an old box somewhere…

For fanfic, I think it’s possible that my two Secret Santa fics have been most fun to work with so far! I also really enjoyed my Heroes/DWP xover, even if only few people read parts of it… ;)

2. How many characters do you have? Do you prefer males or females?

Um, I’m actually supposed to know that? What does that even mean anyway? I have to take it as “how many characters in active works in progress” if I’ll be able to answer. Lets see… in my novel called Blind I have the protagonist, and four other important characters, and about twelve or more minor characters (but some of them are really minor!). Three of the minor characters are male. I prefer females in general, but I have written some short stories (and parts of that first novel mentioned above) from a male point of view.

As for fanfic, count my tags to see how many they are! I prefer females there as well. But I’m writing unusually much from a male pov in my fanfic! That’s because I write Angela/Noah, and somehow it feels better to write his pov most of the time! (But maybe that’s natural, in a way… not because I believe that I can identify very much with the male point of view in general [what ever that would mean] but maybe I prefer looking at Angela? Hm..)

TBC, maybe…

(No, I’ve had a decent day, really. It’s just a fit of gloominess and wish for something more. I think I’ll get back to working on a certain Angela/Sandra fic…)

P.S.
A few more things: I wish someone could write some fics with Pierrette in them. Why not?!

Also, I think someone should write Vers le Sud fanfic; not with these two, but Ellen/Brenda.
I mean, just because. Or Ellen/OC. (She's a teacher, isn't she?!) Or Swimming Pool fic! I mean, there's so much subtext there that it's practically text, am I right?!

(I would do it myself if i had the DVDs so I could get the details right!)

Also, for those of you who read my Polgara fic... Don't you think Anne Bancroft would have made a pretty good sorceress?

Aaand, if I did RPF, I would totally do Garbo/Gardner! Mmm, I can imagine a lovely black-and-white film with a young Ava Gardner and then Greta Garbo as the Mrs. Robinson-style older woman... Femslash in the 1950's, yay!... Wouldn't that have been an amazing comback for her?!

No? Don't you think so? Well then, how about Miranda/Ava? Is there any way that that could be possible at all?

Okay, I need to stop typing these stupidities now...
