Chapter 13: And More Drama!

The two couples talked animatedly, all four of them pretending not to notice what was actually going on between Jensen and Adriana.

Jared saw his friend scratching his head vigorously and asked, “What’s the matter?”

“These damn things! They’re really itchy…can’t wait to take ‘em all off!” the blonde replied.

“Yeah…your hair’s longer…hadn’t realized,” Haylie commented casually, “extensions, right?”

“Yep…it’s for the show,” Jensen explained. “We were supposed to finish shooting some scenes yesterday but there were some problems and we couldn’t get them done on time and now I’m gonna have to put up with this for another three days!” he complained, evidently not very pleased or comfortable with his new hairstyle.

Adriana had noticed his hair was significantly longer the second she saw him…and couldn’t quite decide which way he looked better! He looked extremely attractive with his usual spiky hair -very manly if you asked her. But then, those golden locks of hair looked amazing and made her wonder what it’d feel like to run her fingers through them!

“They’ve done a pretty good job, though. Looks like real hair,” Adriana said, unable to take her eyes off him, and pretending to be studying his hair extensions.

“Yeah, that’s true. You look really…pretty!” Jared added mockingly, knowing how much Jensen hated to be called a pretty boy.

Naturally, that got him a loud “Shut up!” in response and a glare from his friend.

The brunette laughed loudly and was soon joined by the two girls and eventually by his friend.

“Seriously, Frackles,” Jared uttered, “they spent hours doing your hair and they’ll kill you if you mess up all of their hard work.”

“Yeah, I know,” Jensen replied letting go of a breath and ceasing all his scratching, knowing his friend was right.

After all, he’d spent hours on the make-up chair while one of the hairdressers attached the hair extensions -not an easy task considering how short his hair currently was!- before proceeding to cut them to the desired length. It’d been plain torture for him and a heck of a lot of work for the girl and though she hadn’t said it out loud, her eyes had conveyed the message loud and clear, “Mess up your hair -all ‘my’ hard work- and I swear I’ll kill you with my bare hands!!!”

Despite the increasing sexual tension between Jensen and Adriana -obvious to everyone there!- they carried on talking for a long while. It was only when Adriana pointed out that music was playing, meaning that the party had started already, that they left the lounge and headed towards it.

Jared and Haylie were holding hands, their gazes locked, with Adriana and Jensen trailing behind them, the blonde man checking her out of the corner of his eye.

Adriana felt somewhat relieved as soon as she saw all the people chatting, drinking and dancing. Just like she’d expected, there was a large crowd, lots of models/actresses actually, and she was positive one of them would be all over Jensen any second now…and vice versa!

“Let’s dance, baby!” Haylie said, grabbing Jared’s hand and making her way through the crowd before the tall man had the chance to reply.

They got lost in the large crowd, several feet away from their friends, but making sure they stayed in sight.

“What’s wrong with him???!!!!” Haylie asked Jared bluntly, now knowing that neither Jensen nor Adriana could hear her.

“What do you mean?”

“He hasn’t made a move yet! What’s he waiting for?”

“Baby, I’ve told you already…he’s kinda shy…gotta give ‘im some time.”

“Shy…seriously? Haven’t you seen the way he’s been looking at her, staring actually?”

“Practically doing her with his eyes?”

“Pretty much!”

“Yeah, I know…but like I said, just give it time.”

“Fine, but not much’s happening…seriously, Jared, he’s moving at a glacial pace!”

They both looked at Jensen and Adriana at the opposite end of the room, Jensen holding his drink and Adriana responding with a polite smile to whatever comment he was making.

“Well,” Jared then pointed out, “she isn’t making any move either. I mean, she doesn’t seem particularly interested in him.”

“She is!” Haylie answered, “But she’s shy too, and I don’t think she’ll ask him out.”

“So, unless Jensen makes the first move, nothing’s gonna happen between those two…that what you’re saying?”

“Pretty much.”

“Looks like we’re gonna have to do a lot more than just help ‘em out then!” Jared said, frustration beginning to permeate his voice.

Adriana listened to Jensen and smiled politely, waiting for the right time to do exactly the same thing her friend had just done: get lost in the crowd…away from him!

Luckily, it wasn’t long before one of the stunning women at the party joined them and greeted Jensen. Apparently, they knew each other -she was some actress who’d worked with him before- and Adriana thought this was the perfect opportunity she’d been waiting for: Jensen and the girl would engage in conversation and she’d stealthily walk away. She was proved wrong soon enough, though, because the blonde kept his eyes fixed on her all along.

She felt torn apart. On the one hand, she wanted to go away, spare herself the heartache, and, on the other hand, she wanted to stay with him for as long as she could.

He seemed fully focused on her at the moment. He always did whenever they met, but then he’d never made the slightest effort to try and contact her. She found it puzzling and couldn’t help thinking he might be leading her on. She had no clue as to why, though, but soon concluded that whatever the case it was far smarter to walk away.

Jensen talked animatedly and sipped his whiskey trying to come to terms with his own indecision and nerves and doing his best to muster up the courage to ask her out. He liked this girl a lot, and he needed to know if she felt the same way about him.

However, every time he was about to do it, every time he was about to actually ask her out, something got in his way! He’d almost done it a few minutes ago but then Erica had shown up out of the blue and, quite frankly, he wasn’t going to ask Adriana in front of, well, people. Rejection was hard enough already -not that it happened that often to him, okay, more like practically never, but still!

So, he decided to keep his mouth shut, at least for the time being, and that was precisely when all of his doubts began to resurface. She had been the one to part their kiss at the Christmas party and now she hadn’t paid that much attention to him…all evening!

Man, sometimes he hated himself! His shyness actually. That was why he’d taken up acting in the first place, to see if he could become more confident, more self-assured. Hell, he was a grown man and he was acting like a kid! Thank God for his good looks. That had always made things a lot easier for him since it was typically women who made the first move and approached him! But not this time. She was a totally different kind of woman. Completely different from anyone he’d ever met, and he’d clearly have to work for it…real hard!

Adriana was weighing her options -looking for the best way to get the heck away from Jensen!- when a man approached them and greeted them. He turned out to be someone who worked with Jensen and Jared on the show, some guy from the production team or whatever, and Adriana felt glad he was there. The more people around them, the easier it’d be for her to leave.

“Perfect!” Jared suddenly said, smiling widely.

“What?” Haylie asked, quickly fixing her eyes on Adriana and the rest of the group. Some guy and a girl had joined Adriana and Jensen. The man was enthusiastically talking to her friend and Jensen was glaring at him angrily, jealousy written all over his face. Haylie smiled, understanding what her boyfriend meant…and wishing for all the drama to be over soon!

Jensen couldn’t help giving Ron a murderous look. It was bad enough that he’d unexpectedly shown up and began talking to Adriana but now he seemed to have her undivided attention. She was talking, and smiling, and laughing at his stupid jokes and the blonde simply couldn’t get it. He was hot, smoking hot, he’d always been fully aware of that, so how come she seemed to prefer Ron…unless she was into short fat men!

He watched her, studied her closely, trying to figure her out, doing his best to get her attention back, to get her to focus on him -and on him alone!- and then, when he realized that Ron was slowly, but rather successfully, taking her away to one side, well, he almost lost it.

Suddenly, Jensen stepped closer to Adriana, all shyness and hesitation gone, till he was standing barely an inch away from her and whispered in her ear, “Kinda noisy and hot in here. Let’s go out and get some fresh air.”

And before she had the chance to answer, he’d grabbed her hand and was making his way out of there with a wide-eyed girl trailing after him.

She followed him through the crowd, across the room, not that she could do otherwise, though -not with his death grip on her hand!- and they soon reached a door that led to a terrace and a garden.

It was cool and quiet outside, the sweet scent of flowers surrounding them permeated the cool air. She looked around expecting to see some people -wishing for it actually!- but found no one.

She thought they’d spend some minutes there in order to have some fresh air as he’d put it and truly regretted there was no one else with them as it meant she’d be with him…alone.

“Okay, no biggie,” she thought, “we’ll just be here for a little while and then we’ll go back to the party…this place is big enough, I can stay away from him…maybe I can walk pretending to be looking at the place or whatever!”

However, the blonde didn’t stop. He carried on walking without letting go of her hand and led her right to the middle of the garden, away from the noise and all the people at the party.

She followed him without protesting -not that she could anyways!- looking everywhere around her and realizing how beautiful this garden actually was. There were white benches, tastefully decorated, and roses and jasmines everywhere, their fragrance so strong it was almost intoxicating. She observed the surroundings and indulged in the sight before her, and couldn’t help thinking “Wow! It’s so beautiful and so…romantic!”

They kept walking along the winding path until they heard some soft music coming from what seemed to be another party at the far end of the large garden. Jensen then stopped all of a sudden and sat down on the nearest bench.

She sat down as well, wondering what had gotten into him, wondering why he’d dragged her all the way down there, away from the party, away from everyone else, but not daring to say it out loud.

She had to admit she loved this particular spot, though. The garden was beautiful. There was a certain ethereal quality to it, and the soft breeze blowing and spreading the intense scent of the flowers everywhere, somewhat heightened it.

In honest truth, she’d much rather stay right there where she was than go back to the party; no matter how nervous the entire situation was making her and although it clearly went against her plan -stay the heck away from Jensen!

They’d been sitting there for a few minutes, without uttering a word, and she couldn’t take it anymore. She was about to ask him what they were doing there, why he’d brought her to this place, when she saw him standing up.

“Shall we dance?” he asked, looking into her eyes.

“Erm…sure…let’s go back to the party.”

“Nah. Here’s just fine,” he said and then added, “Actually, I prefer this soft music.”

She felt his intense stare on her yet again, and couldn’t help stuttering “Al-right then.”

He held out his hand to help her stand and immediately stepped closer to her. He then placed his hands on her waist, his eyes never leaving hers, while she placed her small hands on his shoulders as they started to slow dance at the rhythm of the soft music playing behind them.

At Last

At last my love has come along

My lonely days are over

And life is like a song

Oh, yeah

At last the skies above are blue

And my heart was wrapped up in clover

The night I looked at you

I found a dream that I could speak to

A dream that I can call my own

I found a thrill to press my cheek to

A thrill that I have never known

Oh, yeah, yeah

You smiled, oh, and then the spell was cast

And here we are in Heaven

For you are mine at last

(Listen to song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTMaj1zhk_g&feature=fvw )

“You look beautiful,” he said, biting his lower lip and looking up and down at her hungrily.

“Thanks…so do you,” she said shyly. “Black is definitely your color,” she added growing increasingly nervous no matter how hard she tried to keep it together.

He gave her a brilliant smile in response, and let both his hands slowly slide down her sides till they reached her lips. He let them linger there for a while, for a long while, his palms holding her firmly as his fingers gently stroked the area.

Next, he drew her closer to him and wrapped his arms tightly around her small frame, bringing her closer and closer to him, till their bodies were pressed together and there was no space left between them.

He let his eyes indulge in the sight before him, the crimson lips, slightly parted, the chocolate brown eyes, wide open and looking right back at him, and her full breasts, rising and falling with her now uneven breath.

He licked his lips, filed with excitement, his lust quickly building inside him, and whispered in her ear in a sexy husky voice as he breathed in deeply, “I love your perfume…what’s it called?”

“I-I’m not wearing any…I was kinda late and forgot to spray some on.”

“Really? What’s that fruity scent then?”

“Erm…must be my apple shampoo and soap, I guess.”

“I see,” he said almost purring, his lips brushing her earlobe, “now tell me…does all of your body smell like this?”

“I-I don’t know…I suppose,” she stuttered, so nervous she could barely utter a coherent sentence!

“Mmm…and does it taste like it too?” he asked, in the sexiest Texan drawl he was capable of.

He then carefully brushed her dark locks away and started leaving a trail of soft kisses all the way down her neck towards her bare shoulder. His lips lingered there for a moment, amazed by how velvety her skin was, before going back up her neck, except this time he parted them and let the tip of his tongue ghost her skin.

He went slow, painfully slow, taking his time to thoroughly enjoy every inch of that neck and then, when he reached her ear, he nibbled her lobe playfully and whispered, “Just like I thought…absolutely delicious!”

He went on to kiss her cheek and jawline as he headed towards her luscious lips, which were parted and practically trembling with desire. He noticed that they now seemed somewhat glossier, as if she’d licked them, as if she’d carefully run her tongue over them and readied them for a kiss, readied them for him.

Adriana couldn’t believe this was actually happening. How could she let it all go this far???!!! This guy was taken for crying out loud! What was she thinking???!!! What about her plan? She knew this was a bad idea, a really bad idea. It’d all end badly…it couldn’t end any differently. That was precisely why she’d decided to stay away from him in the first place.

And yet, she couldn’t bring herself to do it. She wanted to run away and she wanted to stay in his arms like this forever…all at the same time. She felt torn apart, her brain and heart struggling fiercely, fighting for dominance.

Her entire body soon began trembling, and he noticed.

“What’s wrong, sweetheart?” he asked, true concern permeating his voice.

He’d thought everything was going fine, much more than just fine actually! After all, it was a starry night and a very romantic setting, and he had her in his arms -the woman he’d been literally lusting after for quite some time!- and he was about to kiss her…deeply. It was downright perfect! A dream come true if you asked him. So, the second he felt her shaking and growing tense, he cursed his luck and thought, “Of course something had to go wrong! It was too good to be true…damn it!”

“Nothing,” was all she replied, smiling weakly.

“You sure?” he insisted, cupping her face and caressing her cheek tenderly.

And that was all it took. She nodded and smiled again, only this time she showed him a white line of teeth, and then her eyes met his eyes out of their own accord, looking impossibly sexy, and completely unaware of it.

At this point her brain had shut down, all common sense out of the window despite herself thanks to his expert touch and kisses, and she finally let her guard down.

He then locked gazes with her and smiled brilliantly before leaning over to kiss her lips, completely lost in the moment. He stared at her briefly, her eyes now closed and her lips parted, clearly ready for him…when suddenly someone grabbed his arm.
