I spent a very lovely weekend in New York with Ro.. Friday night was
a gathering that I tagged along to of children (but all grown up) of gay/lesbian parents. Everyone there was so cool and vibrant. I learned a great deal from their stories about growing up. I loved that they called me "comrade" when I helped take a group picture! Anyway, I loved meeting everyone there...
On Saturday, the weather broke and we revelled in walking around the breezy city... I got my very first pedicure and I can't stop admiring my feet. I told E. to look at my feet around 10 times last night after I got home. He did agree that they are perfect ;)...
Ro and I both LOVED "Raising Victor Vargas"!!!! I don't know if its out on video yet but write down the title... such a beautiful film!
Food highlights (because there are always food highlights for me when I visit NYC) a green tea latte, seared tuna roll with peanut sauce and then insanely good rice pudding at RICE TO RICHES in Nolita. This place had 30 kinds of rice pudding in a crazy futuristic setting- funny videos on the wall and the menu was electronic and kept changing.. We had the anise pear and the cherry marscapone-- both were yummy and served in cute Ikea-esque plastic bowls which we didn't realize we could take home!
Sunday we watched the Pride parade on a 3rd story ledge.. It was fun to be above all the action and in the shade. A great celebratory end to the weekend...
