Only in Syracuse can you be buried in snow 6 months of the year, but 2 days before Christmas it decides to be 55 degrees outside and melt all the snow. Figures, the only time I like the snow is at Christmas time. There had better be snow by Christmas morning, because this green Christmas stuff is crap.
Finals are finished, I'm home for break... its nice to be away from school and back at home for a while. Minus all the fights with my dad. I'll be charitable because its almost Christmas and simply say he likes to make my life difficult, because I think I disappoint him sometimes as a daughter. But the good aspects of home outweigh everything with him, so I try to brush it aside. I got a message from my crackwhore today though. Oh man, I can't wait to see that girl again!!
I ended up going into work with my mom Tuesday (she's an English as a Second Language teacher) and it rocked my socks. I'm usually uncomfortable around people that don't know much English, but these people were a riot. They were so much fun and they were so excited to learn...I didn't expect it to end up being a great experience, but I wound up appreciating people in that line of work a lot more than I thought I did. Quite fun.
My Nicholas finally came home on Tuesday!! I haven't seen him in 3 months, and I don't think I realized how much I missed him until I saw him again. He's such a bitch, but I love him to death. It figures the love of my life ends up being a gay man. <3 :P
I've literally gone on shopping trips of various kinds every day this week. I'm sooo ready to be finished. For example, I went and got my eyebrows waxed today (finally!!) and then spent the next 2 HOURS in the grocery store. Who does that?? I know there's a lot of people to feed at Christmas dinner, but my mom's cart rivaled Mt. Everest. And then Lynette and I managed to clock the fastest shopping trip I've ever seen later on. 20 minutes from one end of the mall to the other + 2 gifts to purchase = insanity. At least I have one last trip to the mall tomorrow to get 2 presents, and then I'm done. Wrapping not included , but I don't mind that.
Tomorrow I have to shop, help my mom make a bunch of stuff for Christmas dinner, and then wrap Christmas gifts and decorate cookies. I'm excited for Christmas though. I haven't been to church in ages, and Christmas Mass is my favorite, so that should be good. And I'm dying to see my family on Christmas Day. Gah, I'm such a little kid about Christmas. I'm so excited!!!! :D
My guard girls got me presents tonight. It was totally unexpected, but so sweet. Stuff like that makes me realize why teaching those girls is worth all the time I put into it. They're awesome.
I had this thought today about the one thing I really want for Christmas. I won't share it, cause I feel like it would seem silly in writing. I guess it just centers around my wanting to have someone to share Christmas with. Or more like, someone that wants to share Christmas with me. It's been a while, and I guess it just doesn't seem the same without someone that loves you... but suppose it'll just remain a wish until next year.
But not to end on a down note, I hope everyone has a wonderful day Saturday and gets at least one thing they really wanted.
Merry Christmas everyone. :)
