RIP Drew Hayes
Drew Hayes was one of the major success stories for self-published comics in the '90's. Poison Elves was a rocking good time, set in a fantasy world with humans, elves, dwarves, and less savory races with the main character as an outcast elven assassin. He took the typical fantasy elements and built a world lush with possibilities. Any explanation I write couldn't possibly do it justice.
The main story line was just getting started when Hayes' health went seriously south. His last work on the series was published in 2004.
All the issues have been compiled to graphic novels. I highly recommend them.
