Today started out so awesome!

I woke up feeling fairly refreshed and discovered my headache hadn't returned. I was going to work in my apartment which doesn't have AC yet (but it will on Friday!) so I put my 12,000 feet of hair way up on my head and it looks really good.

...This is mostly where the good day ended.

1. I could go into painful detail how the whys and wherefores of how I discovered this or why I was using those outlets. And the vaguely homicidal look on my face as I finally broke down and wielded my circuit tester like a demon infested pro. But I won't. It still hurts to remember. Suffice it to say an entire wall of outlets in my bedroom does not work. No juice.

2. Neither mom nor I could figure out how to change the bulbs in the overhead light so we could figure out if it too was zorched. And see, this is where my blood pressure starts to rise, b/c checking the bedroom light was on the amended initial contract. IT WAS NEVER DONE. (I had mostly shrugged it off b/c I had spent most of those months frantic and for a while my mortgage proceedings had been held together by ductape, spit and hope.)

3. At this point we were already pissed that the entire newly remodeled kitchen had only been done on two (20 amp... volt?) circuits and that the microwave, dishwasher and stove and all nearby wall outlets all shared a single breaker that we kind of stomped around and demanded answers.

4. I believe the phrase "And here, this is what was in the contract that wasn't done either." was used. There are many things I have not mentioned. I won't, I need to sleep tonight.

5. Lady in charge is taking full responsibility, will make arrangements tomorrow. Electric that needs to be fixed so that it resembles an apartment meant for the 21st century shall be free (and god help them if they have to open my walls). Will also get them to do some misc items that I had been waiting on (turning the 220v outlet into a 110v, adding an outlet near the window in the kitchen for a fan, etc).

6. Cable person is going to be about 2 hours late.

ETA: Upswing! Fridge part is in, repairs on Friday. If all goes well I can finish "moving in" on Monday. (i.e. buy food so I can eat here and bring over what I'm using at my parent's place.)

ETA 2: And there goes the compression shower rod. Just gonna give in and have the dudes install that too.

ETA 2: Make that four hours late for cable. And no end in sight. This happened last time too. V. Annoyed.
