I used to watch ER from the beginning (ok, well 1/2 thru the 1st season but I saw the ones I missed soon after in repeat). Once it came back from the writer's strike I just didn't go back to watching it.
I felt that it really jumped the shark once Carter left. If you think about it, ER was really the story of Carter.
The last 3 or so yrs I watched, it was really just out of habit. I loved in the old ones it was all about the medicine, but over the years it became more and more horrible things happening to everyone and less and less medicine. hell in 1st yr med school we actually used an epi as a review for our gross anatomy midterm!
I used to be *such* a hardcore ER watcher. I stopped watching when Mark died. I recognized Rachel immediately (it helped that she was in the brief retrospective). I really like that they brought her back. It was a great way to honor Mark, and to see Corday.
Did did a lot of really nice full circle stuff and unlike some other shows that *koff* artistically ended midstream, this worked especially well. Even with the cute "Dr. Green" in reference to Rachel.

I never watched Gilmore Girls so it's easier for me, but my kids were walking by and went "Mom, it's Uncle Jesse". *snort*

And yes, those three were adorable. OH JOHN. You are now a professional fundraiser. I hope you appreciate the irony.
