And we say it's shameful when the Republicans cross lines?

Bill Maher outed the Republican party chair on Larry King Live

I'm actually pretty upset about that.

I dislike hypocrisy as much as the next person, but this sort of thing stinks to high heaven. It makes us look bad and it's no one's fucking business. (Again, there is a hypocrisy clause which I'm not happy with but I can at least understand.) As long as you are having sex with another consenting adult, I could give a rats ass the gender. I don't want to know. I'm impressed by those who will take something that isn't a secret or a scandal or even cared about if you're heterosexual (seriously, has anyone been outed as straight?) but is a huge deal if it's not and is willing to take on the causes in a public forum.

I'm very glad you're comfortable enough in your own sexuality, be it straight or gay, to talk about it openly. But did you ever stop to think that there's more reasons than you could ever come up with for someone to remain closeted? And that not all closeted people are hypocrites? And that it's not YOUR place to decide when someone is ready to come out? Do not give me the public figures speech. I could give a rats ass about their sex lives, yeah I care a little if you're going to publicly denigrate something that you do in private, but personally, that alone isn't enough for me to think outting is a good or reasonable idea.

Please note: Being a republican doesn't mean you're automatically a member of the far conservative right.
