It's actually starting to feel like an apartment!
Things my apartment has achieved:
1. Telephones. My vonage box has stopped giving me fits, I think it needed to be plugged in long enough to achieve several firmware updates. I recall dad's having similar issues in the beginning. Either way, not complaining too hard as I don't have to emergency up my cell phone plan anymore. So this evening I broke out the phone system (one base station needing a phone line, the rest just power) and have now distributed the power of the phone to the bedroom and living room. It is exciting. Really. Now to decide who I really need to update with the home number. I suppose it doesn't matter because I can always set it to skip voice mail and forward to my cell. *ponders*
Oh yes, I also now have little sticky notes with my number near every phone, since I did all my paperwork with my cell, I never got a chance to memorize it.
2. Hamper! This makes me far too happy. It's one of those pop up deals. Only it's original purpose was toy storage. It's round with a two and a half foot diameter (why the ones marketed for laundry had openings that made you become a bendy contortionist in order to get at the bottom stuff and need to practically SIT on your towels and larger items to get them in, I'll never know), handles, and a zip cover. Bonus is it's got velcro to keep it flat if I ever want to throw it to storage. Hrm. Next month I may buy a second one since it has that nifty feature.
3. CLEAN! God. MY APARTMENT IS CLEAN! AND I PAID SOMEONE TO DO IT! I AM NOT ASHAMED! *glows*
4. Tea! Local store has a decent variety. I now have every possible mixture of green, chai, white and red teas. I need a few earl grey mixes to complete the lot. I went to The Stash online for that. Yay!
5. Food! OMG SO MUCH! My hope is that the only other food shopping this month is a quickie filler in about 10 days.
6. Hangers. 60 basic, non bulky hangers. This means I can start staring intently at my clothing and try not to end up having to rearrange what I've already put away.. Only 4 more skirt hangers. I sense this will be a theme. Once a month, 4 more hangers for another 2 - 4 months. Alas.
