In my world, the answer isn't always the good one.

One day, I want to see this happen:

*possible do gooder is about to exact revenge on their mother/father/sister/brothers/lovers killer.*

Other, main character do gooder: "Would your mother/father/sister/brother/lover want this?"

Possible do gooder: *thinks about, waffles* "Yes." *kills*

Redemption is a nice thought, but I just don't think it's really the natural and easy path for the hero and sometimes I don't think that's what the hero needs or what he's most likely to do in his intial state, the genesis of a hero if you will.
