Dear Ms. Amiok:

This letter is in response to your correspondence against the Forect City Ratner Companies Atlantic Yards Project in Brooklyn.

On December 20, 2006, the Public Authorities Control Board approved the proposed development project. (In an unfortunately highly precedented act of folly.) The PACB's approval sets in motion the prospect of bringing back a professional sports team to Brooklyn, the (NEW JERSEY)Nets, as well of the creation of thousands of affordable and low-income housing units (LIE). Moreover, this project will bring desperately needed jobs to Brooklyn (minimum wage, seasonal employment, just like all the WONDERFUL JOBS Yankee Stadium has brought to the Bronx.)

Along with the aforementioned programs, (we will be using eminent domain to kick people out of their historic homes and knock down perfectly lovely brownstones, additionally creating a traffic problem never before seen in this area) some additional plans for the area were announced at this meeting. In addition to the eight acres of open space earmarked for the project (which will consolidate city blocks to make them unpassable, and the open space will be utilized for the tenants of the sixteen story highrises that are going up in a neighborhood full of four story buildings) FCRC will invest $3 million to improve existing parks in the Atlantic Yards. FCRC also will open a community affairs office on the project site that will be operated during every phase of the construction so that the residents can come and express their ideas....

Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding this important issue. (I received a large payoff from Ratner.) You have my best wishes for the coming year. (Now shut up.)

Sincerely,
(Hugely Corrupt Fatcat Professional Asshole)
Joseph L. Bruno
