Geez, friends! Everything has been so very sucky recently, but you can never be too grateful for fantastic people in your life who look after you when the sky is falling smack dab on you.
I've gotten a midnight phone call from Caracas to cheer me up, and another one from Tallinn, and then a text message from Brugge and an email from Delhi. The nearer ones have given me many a squish, a spider to pet when lonely plus links to Dolly Parton's break-up songs. Mom calls every day and O checks on me regularly too in a way I never thought he would.
There's something to be said for the whole friends business, seriously. I hope I manage to be half as good a friend to them every now and then.
