Oilympics
I am the first to profess that I am not particulary sporty - competitive yes, sport no. Me- I am built for comfort not for speed.
and I do not particularly like watching televised sports - real life screaming at the ref eating hot chips and drinking beer at the game I likes - idiot box watching men run up and down a green square - no.
However, the Olympics have suckered me in - I am watching the inappropriate sports that I have no particular interest in like ping pong (WTF?) and badminton (high drama!) - what really got me was the Aussie's winning the rowing yesterday - (it was the doubles blah, blah coxless something rather) - those guys stood up there beaming and singing the national anthem like their lives depended on it..and it got me..I am not particularly patriotic - I am more Eureka flag than kiss arse to lizzie and phil the greek.
I do love a good stoush against the poms and the yanks - and we did it against the poms this time and I just loved the utter joy these guys showed on their faces and utter disbelief they were standing there, how they sang Austraya instead of Australia and of course those tight little lycra tight short thingies they wear..
