There are some
that would
(if given the chance)
have a life like produce shopping

and at times
i have been a
small green apple, a
firm tomato, and
a no lettuce type of guy

but
i didn't
go telling other shoppers
that they are buying the wrong goods

there was almost always
a home
for the exceptionally
large red apples, the
slightly impressible tomatos, and
the verdant decapitations.
it just wasn't mine

and this morning
in a sunlit bedroom
not
a dimly lit grocery store
i realized how silly you were,
how silly i was
for ever saying almost anything at all
