Fangirl daughter

My daughter has discovered a few things recently.

She has discovered eyerolling at parents. Sassing parents. And that we respond to both of those by making her go back to where she was, then starting entirely over and doing it politely.

She has discovered that when she doesn't do her homework, gets a zero, and has her grade drop precipitously (especially just AFTER we've had lengthy discussions of missing work), that she gets grounded (only from the things she LIKES), and that she also is required to do the work and turn it in, even with the possibility of no credit.

She has also been consuming the prodigious amount of anime on Netflix streaming. And on Saturday morning, she was watching a series she'd been mainlining. And it went...wrong. She started muttering at the TV about how the writers were doing it wrong, how chrA and chrB were supposed to get together (not A & C), and how it was really annoying to have something start out good and then just turn out terribly when the writers do it wrongly. Ah, fandom. "We Can Take You Flying" remains the fandom anthem.

It was also delightful that when b1uemorpho was recounting this, Ben spoke up to say, "But she was RIGHT!" because he agreed with her entire assessment. *grin*
