Invariably when I hear reports about education, I see red. The reports, like medical, or science, or pharmaceutical information, or other statistical data, take information the reporters don't understand and try to explain it without first comprehending what it says

Did I mention we had a whole afternoon meeting at school about this once several years ago and I pointed out that the NUMBERS disproved the "crisis" touted by the headlines? I had to restrain myself from saying, "So...can we just go home now?"

Sadly, that's getting to be a bigger "if" all the time.
There's a fundamental unwillingness to acknowledge that the most important factor in school success is socioeconomic. I think that's because Americans can't face up to the fact that we've given up trying to improve the lot of the poor because they're - well, poor.
