Elf got a sunburn all over her arms, shoulders, and back earlier this week. She looked like a lobster.
Weird-healing child: the next morning, it looked like a tan.
b1uemorpho took my kids and her mother up to the Chicago Botanic Gardens on Thursday afternoon.
Ben greeted her at school with the pathetic, "I'm TOO TIIIIRRRRED to walk to the caaarrrrr. Can't I just wait for you in the car??" excuse of why he didn't want to walk at the gardens.
She has photos of him running around the place like crazy. *grin* He followed sunblock instructions carefully, sunblocking the back of his neck and arms and all the places he was told. And he got a sunburn across his cheeks and nose, which were not part of the instructions as b1uemorpho considered that obvious and did not give explicit instructions for it.
Elf complained that she didn't get to play in the fountain, though b1uemorpho saw her up to her ankles in water where she WAS playing in water from fountains, which she shared while ELF insisted that she "didn't even get to get her FEET WET." :-)
After they got done at the Gardens, they got in the car to drive back. Ben asked if they were going home and was told that they had to pick me up.
Ben: "Will she be ready?"
b1uemorpho: "I've called her to tell her we're on the way."
Ben: "Yes, but will she be READY, or will we have to WAIT?"
And...despite my best intentions, my, "I'm almost done with this grading, just one more, just a few more numbers to put in..." they had to wait.
