Adventures in Television: Still brought to you by the word "irony"

Apr 08, 2009 16:20

I posted last night about our attempts to replace my now-dead 17-year old Zenith TV for the front room.

Here is a picture of the Zenith under the new-to-us TV that didn't have a picture either.

Here is a picture of the Craig's List TV #2 ($50) that we got today (32" this time) as it was when removed from the car.

Yeah. Husband and neighbor went to take it out of the car and the plastic casing (which must have been in the sun or up against a heater) literally disintegrated because it was so brittle. Even one of the circuit boards shattered. It was...impressive.

Poor Husband. He's tried so hard...and this after a long drive to get the tires replaced on the car only to find that he's still going to have to replace the CV shaft and the bearings on the right front... And with this string of luck, all we could do was laugh and laugh...through an occasional cringe.

Hopefully Craig's List TV #3 will be the winner?
