Seven Year Old Girl!
We had a birthday party today. Last week at mtgat's we had a party for her at one of those fun places with games and pizza (not The Place With Mouse) and a pinata that refused to die.
Today the neighborhood kids came over and julietma did gorgeous face painting on all the kids and then there were cupcakes in ice cream cones with multi-colored cool whip in plastic bags (to squeeze) for the kids to decorate their own how they wanted. Then there was gift opening, then playing outside in the pool.
After that there was watching of Isis (one of Elf's gifts), and it wasn't nearly as excreble as I exepcted Saturday morning live-action from the 70s to have been, and Elf loved it, though she was dubious when she opened it.
Yesterday was Husband's 40th birthday and the kids and I (BOTH of them helped) made kolackys for him and I made him pork, sauerkraut, and dumplings for dinner. It was nice.
Also great, iingaartist has been able to hang out for the weekend and we've watched Doctor Who and the first chunk of Chuck, which she's really liking.
Elf is just SO TALL and so gorgeous and so sweet ane thoughtful and helpful. Ben is obsessed with Lego Indiana Jones. They're both wonderful, and I'm feeling very lucky.
