Cookie Weekend

Dec 16, 2007 13:59

Yesterday was the baking of the pan things, of the breads, of the muffins.

Today is to be all the rolled-into-a-ball and drop cookies.

So far, the total is:

-banana bread
-pumpkin bread
-almond bread
-fruitcake cookies
-magic cookie bars
-chocolate chip cookie bars
-crackerjack cookies

Now I've got to do:

-chocolate chocolate chip oatmeal nut cookies
-snickerdoodles
-gingersnaps
-fudge
-rice krispie cookies

You know, now that I've listed that here, it doesn't look so daunting. The fudge and rice krispie cookies could be done in a marathon session at the stove.

The other three doughs can be made today, whether I bake them or not. First, though, beta-reading and possibly writing.

And julietma cooked the shrimp I bought yesterday and we had YUMMY shrimp with garlic and pasta. I must return to the Jewel while these are still on way-sale and get more so as to be able to make them with mtgat who, like me, lives with shrimp-haters (well, except for Elf, who loves it).

I've had wonderful help from toujourspret, mtgat, and julietma doing cookies, and both kids have been very helpful as well.

Elf has already learned one of my few holiday traditions and has taken it over: SHE has been the one to hang as decorations the holiday cards we've received on the wall and closet door inside the front door. :-)
