I got to take Goodies to school for my colleagues yesterday (who were delighted and who are sweet enough to tell me how they look forward to my Goodies all fall), which went well, and Husband packed up and took Goodies to the kids' teachers to day.
And last night, after Grandma got here, we did Solstice with the kids by talking about what the Solstice is (Elf can explain it clearly), by going through the house and turning on EVERY LIGHT to welcome back the sun, then by opening presents. It was simple and lovely.
The cookies have always (for 20 years!) been my one holiday thing. I like the addition of the lights for Solstice, making dinner, and I'm thinking I need to listen to "The Christians and the Pagans."
And it was good. It was all good.
